Wichita Falls singer/songwriter Ben Hatton is half the country duo The Hattons, with his wife Bailey, and they’re often seen and heard around Texoma, in venues big and small. Just like his better half, though, Ben is also a solo artist, and a talented one at that. Take a listen to a couple of his solo tracks.
Ben Hatton’s solo material is a fresh take on traditional country that embraces the storytelling tradition in a modern, more nuanced way.
We caught these photos of Ben in a solo gig as he opened for his wife at the Iron Horse Pub. At one point during the show he said “Stick around for my wife. She’s better than I am,” and he might be right about that, but it’s a tight race. Ben also said “I’m not really a guitar player,” and I laughed because he is wrong about that — Ben is a very good guitar player.
