If you look it up, the primary definition of “electric” reads as follows: of, worked by, charged with, or producing electricity.
That definition certainly applied to the loud and aggressive, guitar-fueled rock at the Strange Lucy show we attended. It’s the second definition of “electric,” however, that gives us our context.
Having or producing a sudden sense of thrilling excitement.
That is a Strange Lucy show. Electric.
The soundtrack of a Strange Lucy show might be best described as heavy, mainstream hard rock covers and a healthy sprinkling of metal. Korn, Tool, Limp Bizkit, Breaking Benjamin and Metallica, for example.
Electric.
Strange Lucy has been around Wichita Falls for the better part of a decade, and today is made up of Greg Casillas on vocals, drummer Dan Chilenski, guitarists Ron Weaver and Jason Deemer, and bassist John McGowan.
Strange Lucy has a knack for picking great support bands. Their opening act for this show in May of 2024 was Seymour’s Brass Skulls, and they were a perfect choice, ensuring everyone could sing along from the time the house lights went down to show’s end.
Electric.
