Never fear, TheFUSE hasn’t gone anywhere. We just took a little break while the editor started a new job, then started a different new job, but we have it on good authority that exciting things are coming. Stay glued to your feed on that.
Now, on to Red River Playlist No. 7, a collection of 14 tracks from local acts and regional artists who’ve passed through the music incubator known as Wichita Falls.
This month, we have solid new streaming country rock in the form of “Devil Woman” from Archer City’s Young Road Recalls, a couple of excellent cover tunes from OKC’s American Slang (“Fever Dog” and the just released “Cowboy Song”), and two excellent songs—”Warning” and “If Rock Was a Woman”— from Wichita Falls’ own Downtown Royalty. On Red River Playlist No. 7 you’ll also find tracks from Haskell, Texas’ Matt Austin and The Accused, blues from East Texas’ longtime star Ally Venable, Oklahoma’s The Smokin’ Oaks, Further North, Frontier Families, Basics, and the most recent single from Them Dirty Roses.
