Red River Playlist No. 4
Jake Gill, Blank Labels, The March Divide, Under the Influence, Clint Vines & The Hard Times, and more
Welcome back to the Red River Playlist! On the last Friday of every month, we post a playlist of streaming music from Texoma artists, plus performers who’ve recently played in our region.
Red River Playlist No. 4:
Jared Putnam AKA The March Divide is a pop/rock artist living in Ft. Worth who recently came through and many of his songs, like Tension in the Air and Drug That I Can’t Quit, are incredibly catchy and memorable. His most popular song on Spotify at present, Secrets, has 1.2 million streams. [Spotify | Apple Music]
Clint Vines & The Hard Times are back after shuffling band members, and as we wait for new music from Clint & the crew, add some of his most popular tracks like Train Station and Above the Line to your favorite country rock playlist. [Spotify | Apple Music]
Singer/songwriter and producer Darion Ryan Roberts should be famous. We played his song Everything’s Fine for someone who was unfamiliar with his music. The response? “He sounds like an artist you’d hear on the radio.” We couldn’t agree more. [Spotify | Apple Music]
For the first time in 8 years, Wichita Falls rock four-piece Blank Labels is back with a new single — Vague. We’ve written about this great song already, so just add it to any playlist with The Killers or Kings of Leon or Panic! at the Disco and enjoy. There’s more new music coming from Blank Labels soon. [Spotify | Apple Music]
Jake Gill recently played a live show at Bud Daniel Park in Wichita Falls and showed everyone why he is a rising act in the country music ranks. Not only a great country songwriter, but an extremely professional performer with an activist streak when it comes to childrens’ charities. Stream his single This Roof. [Spotify | Apple Music]
Wichita Falls rock quartet Better Strangers has a couple streaming tracks that might fool you into thinking they’re signed to a label. The quality of Greg Casillas songwriting and the lyrical messages are top-notch, and you’ll catch yourself humming the tunes later. Check out the singles Tombstone and Not This Time. [Spotify]
We recently became aware of Low Level Devils, a rock power trio from Ardmore, Oklahoma. Their song No Innocence shines despite budget production values. The rock-stomp aura mixed with take-no-sh*t lyrics make this one a banger. [Spotify | Apple Music]
Raise Hell Kid is a great single from Wichita Falls’ country artist Bailey Hatton who also performs with her husband Ben as a duo, The Hattons. Add this one to your country playlists and check out Bailey’s awesome selection of other singles on her channel. [Spotify | Apple Music]
Lance Burnett’s Seymour, TX band Under the Influence has been around a long time and anybody who’s seen or heard them knows what to expect — country that kicks up some dirt. Corn Whiskey is a jam, and it’s been playing on repeat in our office. [Spotify]
Will Coughlan and his band Loveship make their own brand of brooding, discordant rock music that sounds original and unique. Take a listen to Metamorphosis of a Human featuring the standout drumming of Ryan Cross. Will tells us there’s new music coming soon, so follow them. [Spotify | Apple Music]
We first saw YoungRoad Recalls at the Rising Star Showcase at The Iron Horse Pub and they woke the crowd up with rock, country, and blues covers, and their original single Devil Woman is pretty killer. Two members of this three-person band aren’t even old enough to drink yet. [Spotify | Apple Music]
Sarah and the Hired Help are another group we first encountered at the Iron Horse Pub Rising Star Showcase. They’re from Denton and the single Whiskey for Wine is another excellent country song that you could very easily be hearing on the radio alongside nationally recognized artists. [Spotify | Apple Music]
We hope you find something you love on Red River Playlist No. 04! Follow and share these artists! The Red River Playlist comes out the final Friday of every month.
