Kolby Cooper Headlines The Burn Shop Block Party and Steak Cook-Off 2024
A well-attended event with great food and perfect weather
Congratulations to The Burn Shop for another successful Block Party and Steak Cook-Off event in 2024. Keith Wineinger, Tagan Gann, and their dedicated crew of staff and volunteers orchestrated a great gathering in the street at 9th and Ohio that culminated with a good turnout for the concert (in perfect weather) and a lot of great food, all to benefit the Wichita Falls Police and Firefighters’ Associations.
Like every BSBP, the day started with the Steak Cook-Off, and they gave out awards in multiple categories, for not only steak, but wings, too. We sampled a few things and were blown away by the cooks in attendance. You can’t go away hungry.
Once everybody filled their bellies, it was time for music, and Punch & Whiskey, featuring Derrick Kuehner, Justin Wright, and Robert Duncan, started the night with a set of elite-level harmony vocals and relaxed country songs interspersed with entertaining banter.
Second on the bill was Wichita Falls’ own rising country songwriter Zack Crow and a band that included bassist Mackey Divine, drummer Cody Choate, and Derrick Kuehner returning for another Block Party set on guitar.
Headlining the 2024 event was country star Kolby Cooper and a crowd numbering in the thousands came out for his show. Cooper performed all his best-known hits during a live show that incorporated plentiful audience interaction.
