Jaret Ray Reddick Comes Home to The Iron Horse
A country homecoming for the founder of Bowling for Soup
The founder and frontman of Bowling for Soup (and Wichita Falls’ hometown boy) Jaret Ray Reddick made a sold-out country appearance at the Iron Horse Pub last night, and the show was as funny as it was musically entertaining.
Any time you go to see Jaret play, be prepared for a lot of jokes. Funny jokes. Seriously. Between country songs, Jaret had both rooms at the Iron Horse rolling with laughter, and I couldn’t stop thinking about Kevin Smith’s one-man-show that he’s been doing for years. Jaret could absolutely do a theater tour, just telling stories and jokes from his career, and I would pay good money to see that.

Jaret couldn’t get out of there without playing some Bowling for Soup songs and other surprises, and it was probably a good primer since Bowling for Soup has a fall tour ready to fire up. That tour comes back around our way with shows in Dallas and Lubbock in October, so get your tickets now.

I was personally thrilled that I got to meet Jaret, and he knew about theFUSE. He told me “It’s a good thing that you’re doing.” That should keep me going for awhile.

I wish he would book BFS to play a big show here. The city needs to see if you book a big name, a whole lot of people will show up for it. I know a lot of people were excited to see their old friend play here.
