The all-female rock group The Runaways are famous for launching Joan Jett and Lita Ford to stardom, largely on the heels of their Kim Fowley-penned song “Cherry Bomb,” and it is from that seminal number that Texas’ tribute to the women of rock Cherry Bomb takes their name.
Cherry Bomb is recently reinvented with Ashley Easley as lead singer, replacing former vocalist Madi Ferguson, who left the group last fall, and the group hasn’t missed a beat, picking up right where they left off with a hit-laden setlist of great woman-led rock.
