Getting Up Close and Personal at Open Mic Night
Clint Vines hosted another night of great music
Wichita Falls standout Clint Vines hosted another Open Mic Night at the Iron Horse recently, and as always, it was a great night of music. A “who’s who” lineup of local musicians showed up to share their tunes, including a mini-set from Sean Snyder of It Hurts to Be Dead.
I’ve said before and I’ll say it again, Open Mic Night is one of the best, most-interesting nights to attend live music because you can still talk and the variety of entertainment you get to see and hear is excellent and unpredictable. You never know what might come next.
On this particular night, Will Coughlan of Loveship showed up with his loop pedal. Will played several instrumental tracks in which he laid-down a rhythm track, looped it, then accompanied himself with soothing and ethereal guitar leads.

Local singer/songwriter Jay Burnam was also in attendance and gave a great acoustic performance that leans toward adult contemporary, with original songs in the vein of John Mayer and Gavin DeGraw. Other regulars from the Wichita Falls music scene performed as well, including crowd-favorite Kimmy, Daniel Noe, singer/songwriter Jeremy Beagle, Anthony Taylor from HermAnthony and others.
