Caught in the Act: Coda Diver — a Tribute to Dio
Wichita Falls' Coda Armour throws up the horns
Wichita Falls rock quintet Coda Armour got a little bit shorter last weekend as they performed a tribute to the diminutive rock legend with a powerful voice, Ronnie James Dio. For one night only, Coda Armour became “Coda Diver.”

It was our observation that the Coda boys had a killer set in store for us when they opened the show with the song that is arguably the late-Ronnie James Dio’s most recognizable song: Holy Diver. It’s kinda like The Eagles opening with Hotel California… the rest of the set has to be stunning if you’re opening with the biggest song.
Coda Diver did not disappoint, playing all of the Dio tracks fans would expect, with the audience throwing out the horns in tribute. As they closed the show to make way for KISS-tribute Rock and Roll Over, they performed Dio’s “The Last in Line” and captured a magical moment, where everything meshed and sounded spot on. We genuinely hope this isn’t the last time we’ll see Coda Armour pay tribute to RJD.
