Legendary songwriter Leonard Cohen once said “If I knew where the good songs came from, I’d go there more often.” In North Texas, good songs come from the core, and Bryson Lawrence and Blank Labels are always happy to demonstrate. Personally, when the guys are playing, I go there, often.

I’ve previously written about Bryson, as both a solo artist and the frontman for Blank Labels, and the incredible, physical drumming of Mike Hardison. Likewise, new lead guitarist Angel Perez showed brilliance in the Blank Labels performance I saw previously, and it’s no secret that bassist Mackey Divine is a master on his Fender Jazz bass. As an ensemble, it’s hard to beat the talent in Blank Labels.

The best news coming out of the Blank Labels camp is that they’re working on new music, and we’re gonna get to hear some new stuff from them in the future. That is something to look forward to. Between now and then, if you catch a Blank Labels show, Bryson and the guys might just surprise you with a new track that nobody has heard yet, and you’ll immediately understand, Blank Labels is a band on the rise.
