After a couple months off in the Texas inferno we called Summer 2023, concerts returned to Bud Daniel Park in September with Biskitheadz, a classic rock band from Altus, Oklahoma.
I didn’t see anything about this show until a few days prior to the date, and when I asked around, most people told me they hadn’t heard about the concert and didn’t know anything about Biskitheadz. I went to the show totally in the dark, not knowing what to expect.
Right off the top, I was impressed with Biskitheadz’ lead vocalist, Kevin English. Anybody who can sing Steve Perry and make it sound natural gets high marks from me, and he did.
Biskitheadz guitarist, Bob Avilla, also struck me as a talented dude who plays some unusual arrangements of popular songs. There were a few bumps in some of the performances — a song started in the wrong key, for example — and it made me wonder if the show was booked last-minute and left the band with little time to rehearse.
Regardless, the guys put on an entertaining performance that was a lot like listening to the radio when I was growing up… classic pop and rock with a few surprises here and there.

In the end, I was impressed with Biskitheadz and I would definitely go see them again.
Biskitheadz is:
Kevin English, lead vocals
Bob Avilla, guitar and vocals
Shane Hicks, bass and vocals
Bobby Avilla, drums
