A Glimpse of Local Legends
Some scenes from the 2nd annual music festival at Legends Roadhouse
Legends Roadhouse hosted the 2nd Annual Local Legends music festival this weekend and due to a last minute change of plans, TheFUSE was able to spend about five hours at the 10-plus-hour event and capture photos of some very talented artists.
For your enjoyment, here’s a glimpse of Local Legends

We’ve seen HermAnthony & the Side FX perform before, but we had never seen them perform a full electric set with a drum kit. Early HermAnthony performances we’d seen were mostly acoustic performances, then the namesake members of the group, Herman Hardin and Anthony Taylor, added Kenny Reynolds on bass and Aaron Jensen on the box drum. The addition of other band members prompted a tweaked band name for HermAnthony (they added “& the Side Fx”) and their show is evolving with each performance we see. I chatted with drummer Aaron Jensen after their set and he told me this was only their second show with the full drum kit. It was also the first time we saw Herman really get down on lead guitar.
HermAnthony & the Side FX is coming to life right before our eyes, with thought-provoking original music, and they showed us, on the main stage at Local Legends.
Early in the show, we got a treat on the second stage. Jim Voodoo Gideon played an acoustic set of his always great original songs, and he was accompanied by his old Thr33 bandmate, bassist Ross Luttrell. It was Ross’ first show back after suffering a stroke in 2023, but he appears to be on his way back because, you can take it from us, the man is still a badass bassist.

Wichita Falls bluesmasters Lone Star Mojo played a set on the main stage and it was excellent, as always. The Mojo guys have been riding the success of their latest album, “A Shot of the Blues,” which has been on both the national and the Texas blues charts for months. Fans of six-string heroics and the vintage tone of a Hammond B3 organ would be wise to take a listen.

Terry Thompson performed on the second stage, and Terry has an incredible voice. He was in the middle of an Elton John cover when we walked in and we were immediately struck by Terry’s unique take on it. It was our first time seeing Terry and we’re looking forward to seeing and hearing more in the near future.

We also saw Singular Alloy perform for the first time at Local Legends. They’re a Wichita Falls rock band that defies categorization. Their Facebook page describes them as a gritty southern rock band, but we tasted flavors of hardcore, punk, metal and even country in their set. Singular Alloy shows promise.
Other bands finished out the night, on both stages, including Thousand Pound South, Giant Pilot, A New Day Falls, and Cash & the Counterfeiters, all of which we were sorry we had to miss. Next time.
In the end it was a great day of music to benefit Arc of Wichita Falls. Did you attend Local Legends Fest? Tell us about it in the comments.
